Welcome to SnapShot's Main Gallery! We've put together some of the best highlights taken from our landscape,
macro photography, and vintage categories. Let's take a second to go over what each category entails.
Landscape photography is one that encompasses nature. Whether you take photos of land, sea, or sky, they
all fall under the "landscape" category. There is also the subcategory of the "urban landscape" which serves to document
human inventions and environments. You should strive to capture a moment that fills your heart with joy and wonder! Also
remember that lighting can dramatically change the mood of the shot, which makes for a whole other experience. Landscape
photography is certainly a very broad field that's packed with emotion.
Macro photography is close-up photography, one that makes smaller objects appear almost "life size"! Popular subjects
for macro photography are insects, plants, and other small items. This category can be more difficult to accomplish
for a beginner as it takes a bit of practice and the right equipment to capture an image at its best. As it is a sort of
"magnified" photography, getting the subject to fill the frame may be difficult and result in blurry photos if the
equipment can't accommodate the magnification aspect. However, with time and experience, it is perhaps one of the most
rewarding types of photography.
Vintage photography is just that, photographs from a certain time period (which can also include the landscape and macro categories).
The beauty of vintage is that is varies every so often as what was retro becomes vintage, and what was vintage becomes an antique as the
years go by! For reference as to what is considered retro, vintage, or antique, see the list below:
